Banda Aceh, (Aentenews) – The Indonesia’s Westernmost province of Aceh is striving to gain an invesment from Russia in a bid to help speed up economic growth of the province which was lately hit by flash floods.
Aceh provincial secretary, M. Nasir met with the Business Council representative of the Russian Federation in Jakarta over the weekend to explore cooperation on economic programs in Aceh.
Both sides discussed several investment opportunities which would be able to enhance investment and economic growth of Aceh.
According to Nasir, Aceh strongly committed to create condusive situation for global investors including that from Russia.
“We discussed several work programs and the focus of Aceh administration is to convince that every investment program would have direct impact to improve the people’s economic condition,” Nasir said.
In additiion, Aceh has a number of economic potentials ranging from the sectors of energy, infrastructure to tourism.
Other potentials including on trade and export of the provincial processed agricultural products such as coconut oil, coconut flour, including the coconut charcoal briquettes and coconut fiber.
In addition, Aceh also has potential to export patchouli oil and agarwood as the raw material for perfume.
On the occasion, Mikhail Kuritsyin hailed Nasir’s presentation about Aceh’s economic potentials and hoped of an increase of the bilateral cooperation on the investment..
Earlier, Aceh governor Muzakir Manaf and ambassador of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Abdulla Salem Al-Dhaheri have established a joint team for the implementation of investment, trade and flight program.
