Aceh Governor Meets With Envoys of UAE, Dutch

Banda Aceh (Aente News) – Governor of Indonesia’s Westernmost province of Aceh, Muzakir Manaf held talks with ambassador of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Abdulla Salem Al-Dhaheri in Jakarta and high ranking official of the Dutch Embassy, Adriaan Palm in Banda Aceh.

Muzakir Manaf, popularly called Mualem, in his meeting with the UAE ambassador on Tuesday (April 27) agreed to establish team in a bid to explore cooperation on investment, trade and flight affairs, according to Aceh provincial spokesman, Nurlis Efendi.

The team begins their activities starting May 2026, Efendi said, adding that the meeting took place in the ambasador’s residence in Jakarta.

Efendi said further, the meeting was aimed to offer an opportunity to the UAE side to invest in Aceh.

“The bilateral cooperation would cover the sectors of oil, gas, mining and palm oil which could be processed into cooking oil,” Effendi explained.

In addition, Mualem also unveiled about the potentials of trade and export of the provincial processed agricultural products such as coconut oil, coconut flour, including the coconut charcoal broiquettes and coconut fiber. Aceh also has potential to export patchouli oil and agarwood as the raw material for perfume.

Indonesia’s agarwood export destinations covering the Middle East and a few of Asian regions such as Saudi Arabia, Dubai, Singapore and Hongkong.

Meanwhile, the UAE’s ambassador hailed the Aceh’s invitation for the investment and bilateral cooperation on flight from Aceh to UAE heading to Saudi Arabia.

The envoy also expressed his country’s assistance to help recover devastated houses and school buildings following the recent natural disasters such as landslide that hit Aceh regions.

Meeting with Dutch embassy’s official
Apart from that, a high ranking official of the Dutch Embassy, Adriaan Palm in his meeting with Aceh governor in Banda Aceh on Thursday (May 7) among other discussed about development of his government’s assistance to help rehabilitate the devastated buildings following the hydrometerology problem which hit some Aceh’s areas recently.

According to him, Dutch government would also step up cooperation with Aceh’s province in several economic sectors.

On the occasion Mualem hailed the visit of the Dutch Embassy’s official and also expresed Aceh’s economic potentials including on agriculture, plantation, and mining sectors for further bilateral cooperation.

Aceh shares borders with three countries namely Malaysia, Thailand and India (through Andaman and Nicobar Islands). (Bus)
