Banda Aceh (Aentenews) – Head of the National Board for Disaster Management (BNPB), Lt.Gen. Suharyanto handed over a total of 93,75 billion rupiah for 4,400 families in the Indonesia’s westernmost province of Aceh to repair damaged houses in Aceh Tamiang district.
The finansial aid was aimed to repair houses suffering from the moderate and light damage following the hydrometeorogical flash flood disaster, which destroyed a great number of houses in Aceh Tamiang district several months ago.
Suharyanto symbolically handed over the finansial aid to vice district head of Tamiang, Ismail in Aceh Tamiang recently. It was third phase of aid for families whose houses got damaged.
“I hope the 4,400 families whose houses got moderate and light damaged will make use of this aid to repair their houses as expected,” Suharyanto said.
Of the total 93.75 billion rupiah, as much as 38.25 billion would be used by 2,550 families to repair the houses with light damage, while another 55.50 billion allocated for 1.850 families to repair their houses for moderate damage.
“We intend to deliver futher step of finansial aid after the third phase of aid has been used as already regulated,” Suharyanto noted, adding that next phase of aid will be devered in July this year.
Suharyanto said, delivery of such finansial aid was conducted as part of rehabilition and reconstruction program following flash floods and landslides that hit the Indonesia’s Westermost Province of Aceh, North Sumatra and West Sumatra in November 2025.
The hydrometeorogical flash flood disaster destroyed a great number of houses in 18 districts/cities in Aceh.
Previously, BNPB submitted first phase of the finansial aid amounting 42.06 billion rupiah for 2,804 families whose houses got light damage, while 70.11 billion rupiah allocated for 2,337 families whose houses suffered moderate damage.
The second phase of aid amounting 35.04 billion rupiah allocated for 2,336 families whose houses got light damage and 51,66 bkllion rupiah submitted to 1,722 families with moderate damaged houses.//Aentenews by Bus.
